Give us Hope

Whatever else the MU gets involved in - one of its core principles is to promote marriage and family life. However, in these modern times when many young couples decided to live together before getting married there is every chance that they will start a family too. But, married or not the best way in which to live and rear a child is to have them grow and develop in a very stable, loving and caring relationship. Being married isn’t necessarily the cure-all for a rocky relationship and for children of such a couple I cannot envisage anything worse than listening to the parents you love constantly arguing or at worse, coming to blows.
It has been reported that there is more domestic violence today than ever, or perhaps more likely, is the fact that more people will report violent incidences than in previous years. Those of us who were lucky enough to have been brought up in a secure, loving home are fortunate indeed, and those of us who have been lucky enough to have enjoyed a loving and non-violent marriage or relationship are truly blessed. Therefore, should you become involved with a less-than-ideal partnership don’t be afraid to lend a listening ear to someone who is experiencing problems in their relationship and be ready to support and help them without being too judgmental.
MU Summer-of-Hope appeal: It feels like now, more than ever, that we need a SummerofHope. Therefore, we are asking our members and supporters to come together to help us make hope blossom for families and communities worldwide. If you want to get involved you can organise an event this summer, such as a garden party or BBQ in order to raise funds for this appeal - but what a great opportunity to get together with your friends as well! All money raised will go towards funding education, parenting courses and even community development projects!
