Interview with Beryl Dean

Hello MU Members: I am Beryl Dean - I am a member of the Cathedral group and although I do not have an active role in the group now I have held the position of Leader and have had several Diocesan positions and was on the finance committee at M.S.H.
I joined the MU in May 1969 at St. Peter’s Church in Hutton. My journey into the MU was a natural progression from the Young Wives Group. Being an MU member has given me an extra depth to my Christian life, especially the world-wide aspect.
One of my favourite memories of my time in the MU was being able to sing in the MU Choir in Winchester Cathedral at a special service for a W.W.Conference, the date of the service eludes me but it must have been around fifteen or so years ago.
Like most other members, the decline in MU membership is a worry to me, I’m afraid I can’t think of a solution to this problem as church membership is declining also, so if I could work one miracle it would be to reverse the decline in MU membership, or at least think of an idea that would inspire many more people to join our amazing Christian group.
Personally, having been a member of the MU for around 48 years, I have had many wonderful experiences and have learned so much, so I will always be grateful for having been a member… Beryl
