Makes me stop and think!

It’s almost the end of 2015 and I trust that like me, you too look forward to a brand new year to come. And, just as in other years, after all the hectic preparations for umpteen Church services before and on Christmas day, and then for all the home and family hosting and visiting on and after the big day I usually take the few quiet days after Christmas and before New Year to go through all my books, papers, folders and lounge drawers, storing or discarding all the out of date papers and bits and pieces that take up space so as to make room for new papers, etc.
At the bottom of one of my piles of papers I came across this, just as I have done every year since:- I cant remember when? A psalm that always makes me stop what I am doing and think: So I thought this year I would share it with you: And in so doing wish everyone a very happy New Year.
23rd Psalm The Lord is my shepherd: (Relationships) I shall not want: (Supply) He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: (Rest) He leadeth me beside the still waters: (Direction)
He restoreth my soul: (Refreshment) He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness: (Guidance) For His name’s sake: (Purpose) Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death: (Testing) I will fear no evil: (Protection) For thou art with me: (Faithfulness)
Thou preparest a table before me: (Hope) In the presence of mine enemies: (Trust) Thou anointest my head with oil: (Consecration) My cup runneth over: (Abundance)
Surely goodness and mercy shall: (Blessing) Follow me all the days of my life: (Security) And I will dwell in the house of the Lord: (Faith) Forever: (Eternity)
And you never know… I might just share this with you again next year? Joan
