Wedding Day Event

Wedding Day Event

National Marriage Week in 2018 is from the 7th-14th February. The week always ends, appropriately enough, on St. Valentine’s Day!

Here at Chelmsford Cathedral we have a ‘Relationships and Community Group’, comprising one of our Pastoral Assistants Rosemarie Rowe, and members of the congregation, many of them former marriage and baptism couples.

The group try and put on an event in the cathedral each year to mark in some way National Marriage Week, and many will remember the fantastic wedding dress display in the North Aisle of the cathedral last year, with dresses and memorabilia spanning many generations.

This year we want to invite couples from our cathedral congregations to an evening of wedding preparation at Chelmsford Cathedral! Yes, you are never too old for a refresher course!! We thought it would be fun to invite some Mr and Mrs’ to a bring and share supper, and a relaxed evening of food and conversation on Saturday 10th February 2018 from 6.30pm for 7pm. It will be hosted by the Relationships and Community Group and the Mothers Union, and during it to experience a couple of the exercises we put our wedding couples through! Nothing heavy, and it’s all light hearted and fun, but they help us to give couples useful insight into their relationships (and maybe yours ?!).

So the gauntlet has been thrown down! Come for some food, wine, fellowship and fun on Saturday 10th February,6.30pm for 7pm in the cathedral, and see how well you know your other half into the bargain!

We need to know approximately how many are coming- please could you let Marion Palmer know in the cathedral office on 01245 294492,

Thank you! Vice-Dean of Chelmsford Cathedral
