Let us pray: for the innocent men, women and children of war-torn Mosul
A small girl approached a lady saying she was lost. Once her mum had been found the lady asked the child why she had sought help from her, Well, said the girl, you are wearing the same MU badge as my mum!
The Kohima Epitaph. When you go home tell them of us and say; for your tomorrow, we gave our today.
Stir up O Lord we beseech thee, the wills of thy faithful people, that they, plenteously bringing forth the fruits of good works, may of thee be plenteously rewarded. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Collect for Sunday next before Advent.
Saint Stephen is the patron saint of deacons, headaches, horses, coffin makers and masons. St Stephen’s Day is 26th of December and we honour his name in the Christmas Carol “Good King Wenceslas”.
Pray for all the women and girls who have to endure physical and mental violence in their home just because they are women. Give them hope and courage to stand up against domestic violence. Let us stand together – and speak out…
As Advent begins again this year let us pray for all those people who do not have the hope and anticipation that Christian people enjoy.
