Lucy with Bishop Edward and his wife Mary

It is with grateful thanks to the Lambeth Conference volunteers as they managed to send messages to poor Lucy Bubb who had been dashing around Heathrow airport terminals trying to locate Bishop Edward and his wife Mary who had travelled to England from Rejaf, in South Soudan in order to attend the Lambeth Conference. It appears that their flight had arrived early, which meant that Lucy had difficulty tracing them. Bishop Edward and his wife were due to board a coach for Canterbury, but fortunately Lucy finally caught up with them so all’s well that ended well. Lucy gave the couple a refurbished phone so that she could keep in contact with them whilst they were in the UK, and she is hoping that the phone will still work when they get back to Rejaf. Lucy also gave them some gifts to take back to Revd Mary Stephen (Diocesan President) just in case she doesn’t happen to meet up with them again. The gifts included some MU badges, pens, and a couple of the Platinum Jubilee prayer books along with some Chelmsford MU notelets. Lucy is going to try to meet up with Bishop Edward again before he gets back on the plane to Rejaf, as according to a LC volunteer, he will probably be back at Heathrow on the 8th August. So, let’s keep our fingers crossed that Lucy manages to wish the Bishop and his wife a fond, MU farewell and safe journey home…
