Mary Sumner Day is on 9th August, leaving us with a model to follow, exemplified in her prayer:

"All this day, O Lord, let me touch as many lives as possible for thee,and every life I touch, do thou by thy spirit quicken, whether through the word I speak, the prayer I breathe or the life I live. Amen.'

Mothers' Union began with the small seed of Mary Sumner's vision and obedience to God; nearly 150 years later, we've grown into the huge international organisation that is Mothers' Union today.

Let each one of us follow Mary Sumner's lead and support one another in prayer and action.
