The three Christmas Trees

The three Christmas Trees

Once upon a time, there were three tall majestic trees growing on a hill. The first tree said that when he was cut down, he wanted to be made into a beautiful, ornate treasure chest that would hold many precious jewels like, diamonds, rubies, gold. The second tree said that when he was cut down, he wanted to be made into a stately cruise liner, in which kings and all nobility would want to sail. The third tree wanted to be left where he was, so that his branches would reach up to heaven. Sometime later three wood-cutters came with saws and cut the three trees down, the first tree was so sad because he was made into a box to hold animal feed. The second tree was miserable because he was made into a small fishing boat for the local lake. The third tree was devastated because he was cut down and left in a wood-cutters yard and forgotten. Some years later a young lady came along and seeing the old wooden box full of hay laid her baby in it. Some years later still, the small fishing boat would be out in a fearful storm and a man would stand up in the boat and order the waves to be still, and they did. And, some years later the forgotten piece of wood was picked up and carried to a hill, where upon its join a man was nailed. So you see, with hope, peace, and love the three trees got their wish. The first tree held the most precious soul, so much more precious than diamonds and gold. The second tree carried and protected the most important soul, so much more important than any king or nobleman, And, how much closer could the third tree have got to heaven than to have been carried by, and held on its joint the One nearer to heaven than the Son of God.
