Pray with us

Pray with us

A couple of weeks ago I watched a programme on TV about drug and alcohol addicts and what it does to the people who are overwhelmed by this problem. Any kind of addiction is a psychological condition that is categorised as a mental illness. And because of the stigma addicts are faced with, to feed their addiction they often resort to crime. The presenter of the programme made a remark saying how sad it was that people are often imprisoned because they are ill… where of course they are not, they only imprison those addicts who enable, thieve or turn to violence. :This week is Prisons Week: and for around fifty years Christians have been encouraged to pray for not only those who are imprisoned but for all those who give of their time and energy to help, reform and rehabilitate all prisoners. Prison staff, prison Chaplains, welfare officers, and all those who go willingly to help serve. This week, Prayers for Prisons Week are being uploaded onto our reflections page, please pray with us.
