Our Summer of Hope 2022 is so special because it is devoted to women in leadership, those who have been a major source of inspiration and encouragement to us and will continue to do so. We had the amazing opportunity to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee of our Patron, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 11: whilst we reflect on the life and work of our founder Mary Sumner. We also continue to appreciate all our members who have faithfully served Mothers’ Union over the years. Our prayers are needed for families and communities everywhere, on matter what their circumstances, and we can all do our bit… Just like Lillian Irving from the Wickford and Runwell branch, who informed us that her grandson Jonathan, walked the route of the London Marathon to help raise funds for the Jubilee Summer of Hope campaign. He left home early and caught the 4.21am train and completed the route exactly 12 hours later, clocking in at 4.20pm outside Buckingham Palace. What a fantastic effort… Have you, or someone in your MU group celebrated this year’s Summer of Hope, if so, let us all congratulate and celebrate their love and dedication by sending me your news and photographs for the website… email: joan@grabawish.com
